Miracle Sunday Campaign

MIRACLE SUNDAY is much like traditional campaigns except that on the targeted Sunday, donors make an offering of current gifts rather than pledge cards.  The Foundation will provide you with a handout that describes the Miracle Sunday program designed by Wayne Barrett.  This is a “do-it-yourself” campaign.

A church can expect to raise more money in a campaign when outside assistance is used.  In this campaign there is no outside assistance given other than the advice from the handout.  You are responsible for all of the planning and implementation of a campaign.  The Miracle Sunday Campaign would work well in a congregation with strong leadership and organization.  As always, someone from the Foundation can come and do a Charitable Gifts Seminar (“How to Give More at Less Cost”) at no charge.

Steeple and Sky

There is no charge for this handout.  The Miracle Sunday Campaign may be best when needing less significant amounts of money for one specific need such as a roof, parking lot, or boiler.

This is not a quick campaign; it takes at least 12-15 weeks to plan and implement.  According to the handout, you may raise 75% to 125% of your current operating budget.  This is not a gimmick that will raise money when other strategies have failed.

It is also possible to begin the process for a Miracle Sunday campaign with a full or abbreviated Pre-Campaign Study. This study may help your church decide the level of support from the congregation and may help determine which type of campaign is best.
